While it seems like the bad guys who create this stuff never sleep and new forms of malicious software are being pumped out daily, you can achieve at least some level of protection with a product such as Computer Associates' Anti-Spyware, Webroot's Spysweeper, or Lavasoft's AdAware - or ask your geek what he or she recommends. After all, our geeks are home-computer users too and are subjected daily to all the same Internet-borne threats as our customers!
