When are the Geeks available? Our Geeks are available 7 days a week including most holidays at no extra charge! Geek Housecalls has over twenty local geeks that are available on a first-come-first-serve basis for appointments seven days a week between the hours of 7:00am and 8:30pm. Please note that calls can run later than 8:30pm as needed but generally will not start any later than 8:30 except by special arrangement. Our Burlington call center dispatchers are available to take your calls, answer your questions, and make appointments as follows:
We are also meticulous about checking voicemail during off hours, so don't be shy about leaving a message if you get a recording when you call! Usual Response - When you contact our dispatchers via telephone and ask for a geek to come onsite, we can usually get one of our geeks out to your location within 24 hours, and often the same day you call! Emergency Service - In emergency situations, our dispatchers will work with you to get you a geek ASAP! When calling for emergency service, you must explicitly tell your dispatcher "I need emergency service." Please note that emergency service availability depends on whether we can displace an existing call and carries an additional premium charge on top of regular service call costs (see emergency service pricing). A portion of the premium charge is used as an incentive to another customer to give up their scheduled slot for you. Most reliable schedule - Your geek typically works 3-5 housecalls per day, so it's not unusual for arrival times on appointments later in the day to be more unpredictable. If you need greater certainty in your schedule, tell your dispatcher you prefer a first-call-of-the-day appointment. That way, there's no other appointment ahead of yours to disrupt your schedule! Please note that first-call-of-the-day-appointments are available on a limited first-come-first-serve basis and may not be available within our "usual" 24-hour response time. |

Scheduling that fits your schedule We won't make you sit home all day wondering when your Geek will show up. We set a two-hour window for arrival and if your geek is going to miss the window we'll call to let you know as soon as we're aware of it. We may even reassign your call to another geek in order to keep your schedule intact. And if we miss the two hour window and need to reschedule as a result, we'll credit you $20 off the visit fee as our way of apologizing for the inconvenience.
Who's your geek? We always try to send the same geek to you and this is a good thing! Not just because it gives you the level of comfort that comes from getting to know your geek, but also because your geek can service you better as he or she develops a historical knowledge of your systems and situation. Please be aware however, that your geek may not always be immediately available when you call for service. That's why when you are making an appointment, our dispatchers will always give you the option of waiting until your geek's next available slot, or taking the first available slot from any available geek.
